This series originated from another series called Circles and Circuits, I was thinking about how to draw people's movements on those cartographic satellite images, and I remembered that when I was a mechanical student at an industrial school we learned about a system called "thread diagram". It was used to draw people's movements on a map, for example in an industrial plant, and to spot conflict points in the circulation. The paths were pinned and marked with threads on the model. (See picture of Thread Diagrams) In the art works, the concept is to leave a register of the paths of human beings that are working on specific tasks, such as Seven Days in the Life of Carl Marx While Writing "The Capital" at the British Museum Library.
